People put colour and pour colored water on each other and cook many types of sweets and other eatables.
Holi is celebrated in spring because it is welcoming spring. Hindu’s believe spring is full of colours so they throw coloured water on eachother. They also believe that it welcomes the new year, so it’s actually a sort of New Year for them
On the first day of the festival , burning of the demoness Holika, Hiranyakashipu’s sister, in huge bonfires at night.
On the second day, known as Dhulheti, people spend the day throwing coloured powder and color water at each other.
Dol Purnima (Rang Panchami), On this day, people come out wearing pure white clothes and gather together in a common place where they play it with gay abandon.400939300_17f80195d8_o
